Project with six other students for the course "data visualization" during my master in Amsterdam. We got our hands on a dataset with 750k tweets sent during the terrorist attack at the Westgate Mall in Kenia. The visualization retells the story and lets users explore the tweets. It was nominated for a Data Journalism Award. I was mostly responsible for the frond-end side (d3.js, html, sass etc).
Website made for my sports club built using Code Igniter for a "capita selecta" (project of your own choice) during my bachelor in Utrecht. It was integrated with an existing membership / team / commissions / media database and has a back-end system to manage this. The number of visits usually varies between 30-35k per month. I have since then been responsible for all maintenance on this website.
I'm Bart Witteveen, a 23 year old Interaction Designer/Developer. I am a fanatic sports player, photographer and music listener.
During my bachelor and master in Information Science, I became familiar with all the details of Human Computer Interaction. However, in contrast to many fellow students, I also have a lot of experience on the technical side. I can work with pretty much everything from frond-end to databases and I like to keep up with the latest technology.
My main interest lies in the potential of easy-to-use technology in our everyday live. I enjoy using websites and applications that give you the feeling that the designer already knew what you were looking for, and I try to design with this principle in mind. I strive for the best result and I'm always determined to figure something out.
